The Cauda Equina Champions Charity is launching its New Year fund-raising campaign, ‘1 Million Steps for Cauda Equina Syndrome’, tomorrow, January 29th 2021.
Cauda Equina Syndrome is a shocking and debilitating condition, caused by the compression of the cauda equina nerves at the base of the spine. If treatment in the form of decompression surgery is not carried out before loss of bladder sensation sets in, the victim of this terrible syndrome can face a lifetime of incontinence and loss of mobility. They may become dependent on a wheelchair and lose their independence and capacity to work.
The Cauda Equina Champions Charity aims to raise awareness of this terrible condition amongst both the health profession and the general public. It provides support, advice and guidance to those suffering with cauda equina syndrome.
Its latest campaign is aiming to raise funds to continue its vital work.
