Profile
Alicia began her career as a legal secretary, working in a variety of areas of the law before being drawn to the complexity and challenges of clinical negligence. She soon decided to expand her skills and spent four years studying to become a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. Despite having explored the fields of employment law, matrimonial law and other aspects of civil litigation, Alicia remained committed to working in clinical negligence, valuing the opportunity to support people through challenging times.
Having spent over twenty years working for major Bristol law firms in personal injury and clinical negligence, Alicia moved to Glynns in 2013 where she has become a highly-valued member of the team.
Experienced in a wide range of medical negligence issues, Alicia specialises in maternal birth trauma cases, cauda equina syndrome and cancer claims, and is skilled in all aspects of the litigation process. Whilst recognising that compensation cannot reverse events, she finds it reassuring to know that it can go some way to making a victim's life easier in the future.
Her genuine engagement with the individual who is at the heart of any medical negligence case is reflected in the words of a recent client:
"There is no one else I would rather have dealt with in such a private matter. Alicia has been more than a solicitor to me over the last four years. I knew I could pick up the phone and speak to her and she always listened empathetically. I will always be thankful for everything she has done for me."
Outside of work, Alicia's main preoccupation is bringing up a teenage son with her husband. When she has time to spare, however, she is a keen baker as well as enjoying running, body-boarding and walking the family spaniel, Willow.
