According to the BBC, dozens of people are considering suing Oculentis, the manufacturer of replacement lenses for people with eyesight problems.
Around 800 people are thought to have suffered problems following a lens replacement operation for cataracts or other eyesight difficulties.
Patients have reported experiencing ‘opacification’ where blind patches or cloudiness have developed with their replacement lens.
This problem is thought to have been caused by a specific problem with one batch of lenses which had calcium deposits on the surface of the lens.
