Seven hundred and fifty victims of breast surgeon Ian Paterson have already been identified and compensated for the damage he caused them.
According to the BBC, Spire Healthcare is now investigating a possible 5,500 additional patients of the surgeon who carried out both negligent and sometimes unnecessary procedures to the detriment of his patients.
The healthcare provider is proposing to offer compensation to those who are found to have suffered at the hands of the surgeon.
Ian Paterson was convicted in 2017 and is now serving a prison sentence.
