The NHS Trusts in England which pay the most compensation was recently published in The Telegraph.
The figures are based upon the amount of compensation paid over a five year period, from 2009/10 to 2013/14.
The top 10 are as follows:
- Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals, paying £79.0m from 463 claims
- The Leeds Teaching Hospitals, paying £78.3m from 589 claims
- Oxford University Hospitals, paying £75.4m from 341 claims
- Nottingham University Hospitals, paying £71.6m from 466 claims
- Barts and The London, paying £62.8m from 440 claims
- King’s College Hospital, paying £61.9m from 299 claims
- University Hospitals of Leicester, paying £61.8m from 496 claims
- Imperial College Healthcare, paying £60.5m from 387 claims
- Pennine Acute Hospitals, paying £60.2m from 649 claims
- Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells, paying £57.3m from 281 claims
