Bar Stool Work Accident
We acted for a client, Connor, who sustained an injury at work when he fell off a high bar stool type chair and fell to the floor suffering soft tissue and muscular injuries to his neck and shoulders.
Evidence
Despite the fact that the employer served witness evidence contradicting our client's version of events, we were able to discredit this evidence due the fact that we had already secured a statement from one of the witnesses and the signed witness statement that we obtained contradicted the statement served by the employer. Liability was then admitted by the employer for Connor's accident.
Settlement Of The Work Accident Claim
Due to the time it took the employer to accept responsibility for the accident settlement of the claim was achieved only a few months before trial.
The claim was brought on the basis that our client had been provided with unsafe work equipment (i.e. the bar stool/chair), the arm of that chair having come off as Connor went to climb up into it.
He received compensation totalling several thousand pounds for his pain and suffering and lost earnings as a result of the accident.
