Blunger Injury At Work

Our client, George, sustained a severe laceration to the index finger of his right hand when he was cleaning the inside of a piece of large work equipment (called a 'blunger') at work.

He had caught his finger against the leading edge of one of the blades within the piece of work equipment whilst going about the course of his normal work duties.

The Work Accident Claim

The claim against the employer was brought on the basis that, amongst other things, they had failed to provide George with suitable personal protective equipment (such as gloves) and in addition failed to ensure that the scraper that he had been provided with was suitable for its intended purpose of cleaning the blunger.

How We Won The Claim For Our Client

We secured an early admission of liability from the employer's solicitors. George made a good recovery from his injuries and his claim settled for £8,000 damages well within a year of us first taking action.
